10 Unique Pitches To Save Struggling AEW Stars
7. Jay Lethal
There's something to be said about not punching above your weight class, which is what AEW does to Jay Lethal any time he's in the ring with core talent that the company is built around.
As great as Lethal is, he's just not going to be scoring victories left and right over people like Jon Moxley, Adam Page, Swerve Strickland, and others that are considered the main characters of this promotion. From the onset, he wasn't brought on to be in their league, and was quickly put in a big faction with Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh, and Sonjay Dutt, where he was ultimately relegated to a midcard spot.
Ring of Honor could use him as a roster stalwart. He's never been as big of a deal in any other promotion compared to his legacy in ROH. He has legend status surrounding those titles and could be one of the top stars of that brand on any given day, provided he just gets frequent victories to prove it.
Lethal should separate from Jarrett's crew, stick to ROH, possibly mentor someone like EJ Nduka and/or Lee Johnson, feud with people who fly in the face of what the company stands for like Chris Jericho, and focus on being an asset there, rather than making sporadic appearances in random AEW matches as a guy to fill in a losing spot.
