10 Unique Statistics From WWE WrestleMania 39
8. He's Not Done Yet
There's an argument to be made that perhaps Rey Mysterio's Hall of Fame induction was premature. WWE rarely inducts active competitors, only doing so on two previous occasions; Ric Flair in 2008, who retired that weekend, and Goldberg in 2018, who had only returned in a part-time role. Thus, Mysterio's induction was associated with unjustified chitchat that this would be his final weekend as an active competitor - but it wasn't.
Rey defiantly affirmed that his active status as a WWE Superstar would continue following WrestleMania 39, where he downed his son Dominik in a seminal sports entertainment classic. He's already wrestled since then as well, being felled by Austin Theory ahead of a presumed Backlash bout vs. Dominik and Damian Priest alongside Bad Bunny.
This puts the second-generation grappler forward as the 40th WWE Hall of Famer to wrestle for the former McMahon-fronted organisation after becoming a HOFer, joining the likes of Shawn Michaels, Alundra Blayze, Kurt Angle, and now, Snoop Dogg.
His position on the night one card adds Rey's name to the modest list of inducted WWE Hall of Famers to have wrestled the day after their formal induction. Jimmy Snuka, Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, and Triple H comprised the initial rundown.
