10 Unique Statistics From WWE WrestleMania 39
7. Go For Gold
Brock Lesnar vs. Omos didn't have a lot riding on it at WrestleMania 39. It certainly wasn't what many had expected - Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley III was - and it instead scanned as a means of getting both on the card; it was essentially objectless.
It delivered, though, hitting the necessary spots you'd forecast in a Lesnar vs. Omos match, the peak of which was Brock F5ing the seven-foot-three Omos without inflicting murderous suffering upon him. Fortunately, it did just enough to warrant sufficient fan intrigue.
A closer examination applies an unparalleled uniqueness to the match; it was WrestleMania's first one-on-one collision between two wrestlers who BOTH won gold in their 'Mania debut. Brock Lesnar lifted the WWE title from Kurt Angle at WrestleMania XIX, whereas Omos, alongside AJ Styles, trounced The New Day at WrestleMania 37 for the Raw Tag Team titles in what was Omos' broadcast in-ring debut.
Lesnar and Omos are among a litany of WWE Superstars who tasted gold upon their WrestleMania debut, the list also including Charlotte Flair (WWE Women's title) in 2016, John Cena (WWE United States title) in 2004, and Edge and Christian (WWF World Tag Team titles) in 2000.
