10 Unlikely Wrestling Faction Members That Totally Worked

1. Sami Zayn (The Bloodline)

Sami Zayn has already admitted that he was never supposed to become a full member of The Bloodline. WWE creative liked the idea of booking Sami in a few skits opposite Roman Reigns and The Usos, but that was it. Even they were taken aback by the natural chemistry Zayn had with guys he was legit friendly with behind the scenes.

No-one thought that'd translate well onto TV.

Zayn going from perpetual nuisance to "Honorary Uce" to full blown Bloodline lieutenant was top notch. He forced Roman, Jimmy, Jey and even Solo Sikoa to corpse on-air with his silliness, but knew when to get serious. Everything peaked when Reigns began blaming Sami for things that weren't his fault and he was thrown out of the group.

WWE gave Sami a short headline run vs. Roman after that, but people started to miss his run in the stable once things settled down again. It made for stunning television, and gave the writers something to pin their hopes on for SmackDown every week.

Sometimes, the best things in wrestling are totally unintentional.
