Hulk Hogan has held onto this record since WrestleMania 2, but it'll probably be broken soon.

The Hulkster main evented eight of the first nine WrestleManias, but one of them wasn't even the pay-per-view's WWE Championship match, and another involved him being challenged right at the end by Yokozuna for no reason at all. Granted, Hogan was the biggest star of the era, but he managed to take the top match at events he shouldn't have. When he wasn't doing that, he was stealing the limelight instead of passing the torch to Ultimate Warrior.

HIs nearest challenger has some main events that probably should've been further down the card. Despite defining their own eras, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and John Cena don't come close to the Head of the Table...

Roman Reigns has been WWE's pet project for almost 10 years now, with plenty of 'Mania main events to show for it. His first was against Brock Lesnar in 2015, with the heist of the century stopping him from being crowned that year. He'd take the WWE World Heavyweight Championship the following year against Triple H, then in 2017 it was The Undertaker in the last match of the night.

Let's not pretend this wasn't the worst main event of the modern era. 'Taker even abandoned his planned retirement so it wouldn't end here, which says everything you need to know. It should've been Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho with the Universal belt on the line, but we all know what happened there...

34 and 38 were rematches against Lesnar, while the Tribal Chief took on both Edge and Daniel Bryan in 2021. Reigns will be facing Cody Rhodes in 2023, which means a total of eight WrestleMania main events.

Despite Roman talking about winding down his career, he's the biggest star of this generation. If The Rock comes back to challenge him, it'll definitely go on last. If Reigns does leave for Hollywood, whenever he wants to come back he'll be thrown into the main event. It's a matter of when not if for this record; one Hulk Hogan must've thought was his for life.

Acknowledge him.

When I'm not trying my hardest to visit all 50 U.S. states, I'm listening to music from the 80s, watching TV from the 90s, and reminiscing about growing up in the 00s. I'm currently living in Melbourne, Australia so WWE premium live events are on Sunday afternoons for me; the absolute dream.
