10 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (18 Aug)

6. Daddy's Angry

Jon Moxley
AEW

Robbed of the sought-after Hiroshi Tanahashi match when the new IWGP United States Champion returned to Japan to face Kota Ibushi instead of meeting Jon Moxley at All Out, the Father of the Year cut one hell of a promo last night.

Moxley is p*ssed off. Ripping Kenny Omega, Hangman Page ("a cowboy who can't get over his high-school emo bullsh*t"), and more, this was Mox reasserting himself as AEW's daddy. He singled out Daniel Garcia after the attack earlier in the evening and immediately threw down a Rampage gauntlet, warning the 22-year-old that while the doctor and referee are there for his safety, that's none of Moxley's concern. Daniel better protect his neck.

Playing gatekeeper for what he called "the hottest promotion in the world," Moxley is going to give Garcia the ultimate test of survival on Friday night. He spoke with conviction and authority here, having settled into his new tweener role nicely, and who better to hand out a planet-sized beating than AEW's most bellicose brawler?
