10 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (Apr 29)

8. Mr. Complacent

Shawn Spears
AEW

AEW is spinning a sweet little yarn with Shawn Spears at the moment, presenting their 'Chairman' as complacent, over-sure of himself, and just a little bit too cocky for his own good. This allows jobbers like Baron Black openings in matches. Spears isn't treating these enhancement guys as seriously as he should be, and soon, toying with them just a little too long is going to come back and bite him, taking the story to its second arc.

Like last week, this was a solid enhancement bout that furthered Spears' character. While he may never be a true headliner, stuff like this, on the midcard, is perfect for him, and neat touches like copying Chris Jericho's foot-on-the-chest pinfall work well for what he's trying to accomplish at the moment.
