10 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Jun 24)

3. Another Great FTR Match

This was originally supposed to be SoCal Uncensored vs. The Natural Nightmares, though QT Marshall pulling out of the show put an end to that. Perhaps that was a blessing in disguise, as it's hard to imagine a universe in which the original match was as awesome as this.

Those who had missed FTR's old-school greatness on WWE's main roster will have had their itches sufficiently scratched by what Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have done in AEW thus far. First was their high-level debut bout with The Butcher and the Blade, in which they helped the up-and-comers to their best AEW bout to date, and last night's clash with SCU was a tremendous follow-up. This was two veteran teams working a traditional tag that felt like it was pulled from the 1980s but peppered with touches of modernity. Great teamwork, tag psychology, and hard work put it over the top as the best match on the show.

That FTR are already delivering at this level without showing even the faintest signs of ring rust bodes extremely well for their bigger matches. They're already killing it on television, so it's safe to say they're going to give us some tag classics on pay-per-view.
