10 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Jun 24)
1. This Tag Division
AEW's tag division absolutely rules. It has always been stacked, talent-wise, but the pool is so ridiculously deep now that there isn't a single promotion in the world that even comes close, with great tandems found at every single level, and last night's post-FTR vs. SCU segment highlighted this.
Dax Harwood cut a great promo after picking up the victory, noting that while he and Cash Wheeler weren't welcome additions to the roster, they were the absolutely baddest men in the company. "Congratulations on graduating from the kiddie table," he said after ripping the other teams. "You're playing with the boy boys now, but you bit off a little more than you can chew."
Vehicles in wrestling are always lame and never make anyone look cooler, so consider The Butcher and the Blade stealing FTR's truck a supplemental Down. Still, that they're now rubbing shoulders with FTR, The Young Bucks, and returning Lucha Brothers is a huge positive. Pentagon and Rey Fenix made their returns by jumping FTR from behind, leading to the Bucks making the save and a big eight-man tag being made for Fyter Fest, from which new number one contenders could emerge.
Great, great stuff from a great, great division.
