10. A Fine Match
The Deaners vs. Johnny Swinger and Glenn Gilbertti was a fine match, nothing more. It didn't do anything to really get either team over, but it did get The Deaners back on our screens, which is always a good thing. Plus, it gave us our first glimpse of Swinger and Gilbertti - The Swinging Disco Balls, as Willie Mack put it - before they face 'Chocolate Thunder' in a Handicap Match. Take from that what you wish.
Cody (not that one) and Cousin Jake just clubbed Johnny and Glenn whenever the opportunity arose throughout this match, using their size to all of its advantage - at one point, they clubbed the hell out of 'The Swing Man', before ending him with an aided gutbuster. Gilbertti, ever the opportunist, used a stack of coins as a weapon behind the referee's back, but to what avail? Cody Deaner ended things with the Giv'er Done on Swinger (a simple snap DDT), and that was that.
Matches like this are fine, especially when it's the right side coming out victorious. If The Swinging Disco Balls had emerged with the win over The Deaners, then this writer would have been absolutely livid.
Plus, the match gave us this afterwards...
