10 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling Rebellion 2020 (Part 1)
9. Tough Decisions
The scheduled main event for part two of Rebellion was Tessa Blanchard defending the World Championship against both Michael Elgin and Eddie Edwards, a match that will now no longer be going ahead due to the ongoing issues in the world. It was revealed that Edwards had made the decision to stay at home with his family, while Blanchard was currently stuck across the border in Mexico.
While this is obviously not something that we should be positive about, seeing as it was one of the most anticipated matches of Rebellion, there's something that at least makes sense about it. Eddie Edwards never needed this match, or the best of five series he had with 'Big Mike' leading into the event. He still has the Call Your Shot trophy he picked up all the way back at Bound For Glory, a trophy that allows him to challenge for any championship of his choosing, wherever and whenever he feels like it.
Of course, once the world resumes its normality, the scheduled three way would be a welcomed addition to any card, but it wouldn't be a complete shame if it was quietly swept under the carpet. There's no need for Eddie to challenge for the title so long as he has that trophy in his possession.
