10 Ups And 11 Downs From WWE Royal Rumble 2020

7. An Overall Bland Rumble

You’ll see on the positive side, there were several “ups” about the women’s Royal Rumble match. However, it really was a bland match overall.

Think about this: two women eliminated 16 of the 29 wrestlers. Four tossed 23. No one else eliminated more than one, with Liv Morgan and Lana tossing each other, and Santina (uggh) eliminating herself. So aside from the few standouts mentioned later, not a hell of a lot happened in this Rumble.

This is the kind of Rumble that will have a couple moments replayed, but it won’t be remembered as anything special by any means. There was a ton of dead weight and several extended periods of nothing notable happening.

The best Rumbles have an ongoing story or theme throughout, or several interesting mini-matches/moments during the bout. This was lacking in that. Still, let’s reserve the right to revisit this later and re-evaluate, but after first viewing, meh.
