10 Ups And 12 Downs From WWE WrestleMania 34

8. Women Turn In Better Effort

Some will disagree, but the Women’s Battle Royal offered a better showing than their male counterparts.

The biggest reason for the higher marks was the presence of alliances and some continuity throughout. Right out of the gate, the NXT women (Kairi Sane, Dakota Kai, Peyton Royce, etc.) teamed up to attack the main roster superstars and worked together. They held Sonya Deville down so Bianca Belair could hit a 450 splash on her. That teamwork gave way to the Riott Squad working together, which gave way to Sasha Banks and Bayley teaming up to toss all three women.

And then, Bayley and Sasha’s simmering rivalry boiled over when Bayley turned a handshake into an elimination. And then, just to rub it in more, Naomi revealed that she hadn’t been tossed yet and made short work of the Huggable One to claim the crown. (Although we could have dealt without that moment, as Bayley’s win would have finally showed her overcoming her naivety instead of being tossed like a goof.)

The match just had way more continuity and flow, which made it easier to follow and more enjoyable. However, there still should be some sort of prize or stakes added to it going forward, as was suggested for the Andre battle royal.
