10 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (July 25)

Downs...

6. Logic Gap

Darren Young being upset at losing his big shot at the Intercontinental Championship is understandable. Life coach Bob Backlund urging him to push forward and learn from the experience is commendable.

The two discussing how they were going to capture the IC title – which is now exclusive to SmackDown while they’re on Raw – is nonsensical. Young can’t compete for the Intercontinental Championship as a member of Raw while the Miz is on SmackDown, and you can’t envision WWE shaking the rosters up (even if it’s just one or two members) this quickly, right?

Maybe that logic gap was intentional, that Young and Backlund are so frustrated that they don’t even realize that they can’t get another shot at the title. Or maybe the writers just weren’t thinking. It’s a minor gripe, but after the announcers were giddy yesterday after each title match about the championships staying put on their respective shows, it stood out.
