10 Ways Brock Lesnar Is A Modern Big Van Vader

4. Working Through Serious Injuries

Both Vader and Brock Lesnar worked long matches after having suffered serious injuries, which is a testament to both men€™s incredible strength and toughness. In February 1990, Vader suffered one of the most cringe-worthy injuries ever recorded on video. During a match with Stan Hansen, one of the stiffest wrestlers in history, Hansen accidentally poked Vader€™s right eye with his thumb, causing his eyeball to come out of its socket. You read that right; Vader€™s eye was hanging out of its socket during a match. So what did Vader do? He took off his mask, pushed his eye back into place, and held it in place with his eyelid, and continued the match. If that doesn€™t say commitment to wrestling, nothing does. In Brock€™s case, his most infamous mistake was when he botched a Shooting Star Press at WrestleMania XIX, and landed awkwardly on his head. There were initial concerns that he might€™ve broken his neck, but in reality, he managed to €˜only€™ suffer a concussion. For a normal man, this would€™ve been a match-ending, or possibly even a career-ending injury. But Lesnar, being the Beast that he is/was, he managed to work through the pain and finish his match with Kurt Angle, and win the WWE Championship.
