10 Ways Brock Lesnar Is A Modern Big Van Vader

3. Excellent Matches With Smaller Wrestlers

Lesnar and Vader have both taken part in some truly outstanding matches, with the majority of these contests being with smaller opponents. Though both of them are skilled wrestlers, neither one of them is meant to wrestle other big men (with few exceptions) and still be expected to put on a good match. Lesnar€™s greatest matches were with the workhorses of WWE. He put on great matches with Chris Benoit, The Rock, and especially Kurt Angle during his first run, and since returning in 2012, he has been putting on great matches as well, with his Triple Threat Match with John Cena and Seth Rollins being lauded as one of the best of the year (so far). Vader, meanwhile, didn€™t have to worry about wrestling bigger opponents, because more often than not, he was the biggest man in the ring regardless of whom he was sharing it with. Still, he put on outstanding matches with many smaller opponents. From Sting, Hogan and Flair in WCW, to Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker in WWF, to the Three Musketeers in New Japan Pro Wrestling, to the Four Pillars of Heaven in All Japan Pro Wrestling, Vader had great matches with them all. Vader set the standard for big men being able to work great matches, and it€™s clear that Lesnar learned something from watching him.
