Matt and Jeff Hardy have completely revitalised the Raw tag team division. Their WrestleMania 33 return produced the biggest pop of the night, the feud with Sheamus and Cesaro has breathed life into a scene that had struggled greatly since The New Day’s record breaking reign ended.

The Hardy Boyz have a shot at regaining their lost Raw Tag Team Championships on Sunday, but regardless of whether they win or lose, the time has come to finally unleash the Broken universe on WWE. Matt has been teasing the switch for a while, and they can’t coast on nostalgia forever. Making the change as soon as possible will revitalise their act before it gets stale, and if WWE have the trademark rights, they should pull the trigger.

This is all contingent on the legal situation. The Hardys are currently at odds with Anthem Sports & Entertainment over the gimmick, with GFW’s parent company stating that because the characters were born on their TV shows, they own the rights. Recent murmurs suggest that the Hardys may finally have permission, however, and if this is the case, ‘breaking’ them at Great Balls Of Fire would go a long way to ensuring memorable pay-per-view.
