10 Ways Hulk Hogan Is The Most Ridiculous Human Ever

6. He Was Nearly Killed In Puerto Rico

The murder of Bruiser Brody in Puerto Rico's Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium in July 1988 is one of pro wrestling's most shocking tragedies.

In his Joe Rogan Experience appearance, Hulk Hogan claims he was nearly killed in that same country - hell, in that same locker-room - just four months before Brody's death.

As Hogan detailed:

"I go down to Puerto Rico, and we have the match. We sell out the stadium. Me and Macho Man go back to the room and we go walk in his room, and his room is trashed. All of a sudden, I'm like, 'Oh my God, I'm gonna go to my room'. So, all of a sudden I go to my room, and, I don't want to say the guy's name, but when I opened the door, he's sitting there, and because he's still really active, and he's sitting there with a gun and he said, 'If you ever come back here, I'm gonna kill you.'

About four months later, Bruiser Brody goes down there, has a little argument. The booker calls him into the shower, cuts his throat and kills him. That's down there in Puerto Rico."

Firstly, the one and only time Hulk Hogan wrestled in Puerto Rico was on 19 October 1985 at San Juan's Estadio Hiram Bithorn. Far from the sold-out stadium Hulk describes, that show - which had Hulk, as WWF Champion, facing Big John Studd in the middle of the card - drew just 1,200 fans to a venue that could house up to 18,000.

On that same night, Carlos Colon's World Wrestling Council drew 11,000 fans to a show just 15 minutes down the road. Likewise, when WWC ran an event from Estadio Hiram Bithorn the following year, they had 17,000 in attendance.

Then there's the time discrepancy here, with the murder of Brody taking place nearly three years after Hulk's one and only visit to Puerto Rico - rather than the four months claimed.

Is this Hulk Hogan using Bruiser Brody's death to facilitate his own BS story? While you'd like to think not, it's tough to rule out, especially given Hogan's propensity to just make stuff up and not let things like facts get in the way.
