Straight away, WWE need to do away with the 'King' Barrett gimmick, because it's clearly not working. Since winning the 'King Of The Ring' tournament earlier this year, Wade Barrett has actually regressed as a performer. Rather than launching the Englishman to the next level, the 'King' moniker has actually made him into a lower mid-carder. That's a shame, because in matches against the likes of Randy Orton and Sheamus, Barrett has shown he's one of the best brawlers in the company. His skills are being wasted on the pre-PPV 'Kick Off' matches, because he definitely has a hell of a lot more to offer. Get rid of the cartoon-like 'King' premise instantly, and make Barrett a more serious character. Years ago, the promotion seemed interested in promoting him as a bare knuckle fighting champion, but it was deemed to violent for the 'PG Era'. Unfortunately, the writing staff didn't seem to have any other ideas for Wade Barrett, but anything would be better than what he's doing now. Take that silly crown off his head, he's not Jerry Lawler, and the gimmick doesn't have a place in today's WWE.
