Hey bro, seen any good swerves lately?

We remember some of the classic storylines from The Attitude Era, like Kane vs. The Undertaker and Rock vs. Austin, but there were many rushed stories, along with dropped angles and resolutions that made no sense, which were all done for the sake of surprise. Logic be damned!

How about the higher power being Vince McMahon? Or Rikishi revealed as the one who hit Austin with his car, and then when that didn't work, it was really Triple H who was behind it, or Paul Bearer, the longtime ally of Undertaker turning on him for Mankind, and then soon turning on Mankind for Taker again, and then a bit later turning on him for Kane, and of course, D'Lo Brown and Mark Henry turning on The Rock!

Besides storyline gaps in logic, things happened so fast and so many big, ridiculous things went down (Al Snow eating his own dog, Naked Mideon, Mark Henry's myriad sexual problems) that by the end of the night it was hard to process it all.

The attention to the mid-card during that time was great, but...well, much of the content was not.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
