10 Ways WWE Booked CM Punk’s Career All Wrong

5. CM Punk Never Ate A CM Punk Ice Cream Bar On Monday Night Raw

Sure, after the initial 2011 "pipe bomb" promo, we were treated to CM Punk wearing a tee shirt that portrayed him on an ice cream bar, but, wow. WWE really missed out on a huge branding opportunity by NOT having CM Punk himself walk out on Raw when he returned to the show after a week hiatus eating his own ice cream bar (maybe even throwing a few more from a box into the crowd), wearing the WWE Championship, and generally looking pleased with himself. Yes, CM Punk was a merchandise-selling machine for WWE.Punk ice-cream bars being thrown out by Punk at televised events (while WWE worked to find a retail producer and distributor) would've been awesome. Think CM Punk Ice Cream Bars (along with other old school wrestlers, too) wouldn't have sold for a year or two? It's entirely possible that they could have done just that. Insofar as finding a brand that already has an ice cream contract within a set percentage of arenas that would handle production of a "WWE Ice Cream Bar" property, it's entirely possible that multiple corporations would fight for that contract. A case of money being left on the table for certain.
