10 Ways WWE Can Guarantee A WrestleMania 34 Sell-Out

8. Create An Underdog Story

Few things are sweeter than the culmination of a great underdog story at WrestleMania. Daniel Bryan’s stunning victory at ‘Mania XXX provoked the kind of euphoric outpouring that can only come from a long, gruelling road to the top, and while his ascension was totally unique, there’s no reason WWE can’t tell a similar story ahead of WM34.

The past three ‘Manias have been disappointingly short on feel-good babyface moments. WWE blew their chance at creating one last year by having Bayley become Raw Women’s Champion two months ahead of schedule, but her current malaise makes her the ideal candidate to star in such a narrative next year, provided WWE can rehabilitate her stagnant character.

Sami Zayn is another option, but regardless of who WWE choose, booking such a storyline should be near the top of their list of priorities. The tale of the underdog rising against the odds is classic wrestling fodder, and never fails to illicit a great crowd response. Unfortunately, WWE’s huge problems with presenting babyface characters in a credible manner makes this one extremely unlikely, but who wouldn’t want to be in attendance for such a coronation?
