10 Ways WWE Has Been An Absolute Mess In 2021
1. The Raw Brand As A Whole
Wrestling fans criticizing Monday Night Raw isn't exactly a new trend by any means.
Ever since its creation, WWE's flagship show has gone through many peaks and valleys. In the mid-1990s, viewers cried out for WWE to freshen up its product after the cartoonish ways of the past staled. In response, WWE introduced the Attitude Era, which would go on to be one of the most revered periods in the company's history.
Today, fans still beg WWE to get back in touch with viewers and revamp Raw, but it's a bit different as of late.
WWE continues to push the goofy gimmicks and ludicrous (and largely pointless) vignettes, despite the demand for a more contemporary show. Whereas in the past, the company would have given Raw a major facelift in the name of competition, the best WWE can do today is surround Bobby Lashley with "ladies" and needlessly tag and break up random wrestlers.
Between the long slumps of low ratings and customer remorse, it's rather shocking Vince & Co haven't worked a little harder to produce more riveting material. They're able to do it after all - just look at SmackDown and NXT. There's some kind of disconnect or lack of interest that's driving Raw fans away in droves, and if WWE doesn't act in a major way soon, it risks tarnishing its image for good.
