10 Ways WWE Screwed Up At SummerSlam 2017

Akira Tozawa and Neville had a decent little match on SummerSlam's Kickoff Show. Six days removed from Tozawa's shock Cruiserweight Championship win on Monday Night Raw, they didn't quite hit fifth gear, but still outdid most of the main card with stiff strikes, big spots, and a great finish.

The action was good, but the booking, sadly, was not. Neville emerged victorious with a Red Arrow to Tozawa's back, ending his title reign before it ever began, illustrating a growing problem with the way WWE handle their titles.

There's no rhyme or reason to these switches anymore. Why disrupt Neville's fantastic, eight-month title reign on Raw if you're going to have the guy win the belt back less than a week later? The Geordie is the right man to carry the division forward, but if the company were going to crown Tozawa, they needed to give him a decent run with the belt, particularly after all the great work Neville has done to raise its stock. They didn't, and their disregard for the division couldn't be more apparent.

It's no wonder 205 Live has been such a massive flop. If WWE don't care about these guys, then why should we?
