10 WCW Managers You Totally Don’t Remember

9. Paul Jones

Paul Jones is another guy who had loads more success outside WCW than he did within it. Before becoming manager for The Powers Of Pain in 1988, Jones had been an NWA/Mid-Atlantic stalwart - he was actually more famous for being a wrestler, and had previously grown an Adolf Hitler-esque moustache for the cheapest of heat.

He led his men on a crusade to rid WCW of The Road Warriors. It was typical stuff, and involved Jones claiming that The Powers Of Pain were the tag-team of the future. During this period, he shifted up his look and appeared like an old cowboy (or regular at The Grand Ole Opry). The 'tache was still there too.

Jones was gone by the time 1989 rolled around, which is probably why most have forgotten him. He'd never return to the promotion, and actually retired from pro wrestling altogether in 1991. Check out some of his promos on WWE Network if you're interested - they were solid.
