10 WCW Moments That Weren’t Supposed To Happen

Former 'Model' Rick Martel was enjoying quite the career renaissance in WCW during early-1998. His matches with Booker T at Souled Out and on television are worth seeking out, and his rematch at SuperBrawl VIII might've been the same had Martel not torn a knee ligament during it.

He was unable to continue, meaning Booker had to move on to a hastily-rearranged showdown with Perry Saturn. Both guys worked for a further 14 minutes without having a clue what they were supposed to be doing; they winged it and produced a worthwhile effort totally on-the-fly.

That hadn't been the plan going in, obviously.

Martel was supposed to beat Booker and then wrestle Saturn himself. That was impossible when he suffered his injury. Strangely, Steve McMichael also broke his arm during a short match with The British Bulldog later in the night. The card was snakebitten.
