10 WCW PPV Concepts WWE Should Revive
4. Halloween Havoc
One of WCW’s most beloved events from yesteryear was undoubtedly the annual Halloween Havoc PPV. With it’s unique set design, the universally relatable theme of the Halloween season and the decision to even dress up the announce team from time to time made for some great viewing.
WCW went all out with the concept of ghoulishness on this night and frequently tied the holiday event into the matches themselves; notably the Thunderdome match of ‘89, Rick Rude’s debut as The Halloween Phantom in 1991 and the brutality of the Texas Death Match between Vader and Cactus Jack in 1993. At also gave us the debut of The Yeti in ‘96...but the less said about that, the better.
Modern day superstars like Bray Wyatt would be a great fit for the supernatural theme of the show, while even supporting players like Goldust and The Ascension could fit in well as part of the creepy presentation. Just imagine Finn Balor as The Demon making his entrance under the premise of Halloween.
In a time when all shows are presented largely with the same look and feel, a Halloween themed event could be just what WWE needs.
