10 WCW Stars Who Would Have Won Money In The Bank

After a failed run as the then-WWF's top babyface, 'The Total Package' Lex Luger returned to WCW on the very first episode of Monday Nitro. Luger's shocking return was a statement of intent: WCW wasn't messing around. Vince McMahon had a real fight on his hands, and the next few years would be immensely uncomfortable for The Genetic Jackhammer.

The attention gained by Luger's return to WCW makes putting the briefcase on him something of a no-brainer. Luger would have announced his cash-in ahead of time, facing Hulk Hogan in the main event of an episode of Nitro. The match would almost certainly had ended in some sort of unfulfilling fashion, so let's go with a double count-out.

1995 wasn't a great year for North American professional wrestling, and the general strength in depth wasn't too great. A couple of less exciting arrivals from WWF would have joined Luger in the match, in the shape of Big Bubba Rogers (Big Boss Man) and The Zodiac (Brutus Beefcake).

Rounding out the field would have been former winner Kevin Sullivan, and first-timers Alex Wright, Diamond Dallas Page and Meng. Haku in a ladder match?

Yikes.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
