10 WCW Stars Who Would Have Won Money In The Bank

8. 1994 - Kevin Sullivan

The Money in the Bank concept is ready-made for dastardly heels. The winner is guaranteed a championship match whenever they want it, wherever they want it, no matter what state the champion is in. Good guys shouldn't be capitalising on others in this way - bad guys do this all the time.

Do they get any badder than The Taskmaster himself, Kevin Sullivan? Much in the same way that some fans believe Bray Wyatt is a perfect Money in the Bank briefcase winner candidate, Kevin Sullivan's devious manner would have been exacerbated by the briefcase.

Sullivan would also have been a great choice to be the first to lose his cash-in. I feel that WCW cash-ins would have been unsuccessful as often as they were successful, thanks in part to the creative influence held by the champions of the time. Hulk Hogan won his first WCW World Heavyweight Championship in the summer of '94 - you can bet that he wasn't dropping it in an unannounced match.

Joining Sullivan in the field would have been previous competitors Steven Regal, Dustin Rhodes, Cactus Jack, Johnny B. Badd and Brian Pillman, along with first time briefcase-chaser The Great Muta. WCW and NJPW had a working relationship in the early '90s, and Muta became an international star in WCW. There would be no briefcase for the Natural Born Master.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
