10 WCW Storylines That Were Totally Abandoned

9. Hogan Does The Job

Hulk Hogan White Hummer

This one may not have even truly been a story to resolve, we’ll never know. At Halloween Havoc 1999, Hulk Hogan was scheduled to go up against Sting in a match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Two years after getting it wrong the first time the company was still trying, bless them, but what fans got here was even less satisfying than the mess that was Starrcade 1997.

For whatever reasons, instead of competing Hogan decides to just lie down for the Stinger. No double cross, nothing, as Sting pins Hogan for the victory. Why would Hogan do this? What was behind his actions? Surely we’d find out something tomorrow night on WCW Monday Nitro?

Nope, Sting was merely stripped of the title and a new tournament was held to decide a new champion. That was it.
