10 WCW Storylines That Were Totally Abandoned
5. The TV Title And Trash Cans
WCW threw titles in the bin more often than most. Whilst
most folk remember Maduse tossing the WWF Women’s Championship into the
garbage, the Television Title received the same treatment in November 1999.
Yes, the same belt made famous by Arn Anderson, Steve Regal, Tully Blanchard
and others was thrown away like an empty bag of Wotsits.
Scott Hall was responsible for this, and the bin he threw the title in was in Denver, Colorada. WCW needed to seriously think about firing whoever was in charge of the bins then, as three months later ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan found the belt in a bin in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
How? What? Why? Eurgh, I don’t know. Less than two months later, the title was retired for good.
