Despite winning the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in his very first match, it is probably best to develop a little bit of amnesia when it comes to Big Show and his start in WCW. The dumbest moment in a sea of dumb came at Halloween Havoc 1995, a show that was to feature Show (then known as The Giant) taking on Hulk Hogan in the main event.

Of course, they had a monster truck duel first, because that is how professional wrestlers resolve their differences. Hogan won the duel, causing Giant to get a bit miffed and leave his truck to beat the tar out of the Hulkster.

This didn’t work out too well for Giant, as Hogan was able to weaken him enough for him to fall off the roof. Of the arena. He fell off the roof of the arena. Logic seemed to be working initially, as Hogan came out and didn’t exactly seem too optimistic about the health of The Giant.

It turns out there was no reason for him to worry, as Giant came right out without so much as a hair out of place. The audience was told to tune in to Nitro to find out how he survived. We were never told.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
