1. Finally, The Rock Returns

WrestleMania 40 left fans with a bevy of memorable moments, but none might be bigger than seeing The Rock make his triumphant return to the ring in a mega-main event tag match on the first night.

Rock teamed with his cousin Roman Reigns to defeat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, stacking the deck for Cody on the second night in his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match due to the Bloodline Rules stipulation that was affixed to the title bout.

As great as it was to see the Great One return to the ring, it’s wild to think that this is the second time The Rock has come back to wrestling after a five-plus-year hiatus. But it’s even crazier to realize that this second return to WWE was after an even longer layoff than the first.

Rock wrestled his last match during his first run at WrestleMania 20, not returning until Survivor Series 2011, a gap of 2,807 days. However, the distance between Rock’s WWE Championship match against John Cena at WrestleMania 29 and WrestleMania 40 was a staggering 4,017 days. Even if you counted Rock’s six-second “match” against Erick Rowan at WrestleMania 32, it still was more (2,925) days between that contest and the tag match at WrestleMania 40 than his first gap.

The Final Boss seemingly can do anything, but it’s doubtful he will try to eclipse that mark with another decade-long hiatus. For now, just enjoy The Rock whenever he comes back… home.
