10 Weirdest Patriotic Moments In WWE

4. Big Show Vs. Rusev: A Tale Of Two Flags

This one is a patriotic twofer.

In 2014, the Big Show was feuding with Rusev, who at this point was still closely identified with Russia instead of being labeled the Bulgarian Brute. Show, tired of Rusev's pro-Russian antics, tore down the giant Russian flag that often appeared behind Rusev after his dominating victories. Yay America!

(WWE later apologized for this act of disrespect, proving they'd learned nothing from Chris Jericho's Brazilian flag debacle two years earlier.)

When Big Show replaced Rusev's giant Russian flag with a giant American flag one night, Rusev tried to return the favor and rip the American flag down. He was then interrupted by an embarrassingly bad "serviceman" plant in the audience. The "serviceman" struggled with security, struggled with the bottom rope of the ring, and then finally got into the ring, only to eat a kick from Rusev.

So not only did the serviceman fail to stop Rusev, but he could barely deal with arena security. A tribute to the troops this was not.
