10 Weirdest Patriotic Moments In WWE

2. The Fans Chant U-S-A...

While the WWE has engaged in some peculiar patriotic celebrations, they're not alone in this endeavor. No, the fans have definitely joined in at times. The weirdest way that fans have shown their patriotism? Chanting "U-S-A" when there are no Americans in the ring.

It happened at WrestleMania IX, when Bret Hart battled Yokozuna for the Heavyweight Championship. It happened on RAW where the team of Tajiri and William Regal wrestled La Resistance. Similar situations occurred during an NXT match between Justin Gabriel and Wade Barrett, and a Superstars match between Jinder Mahal and Ezekiel Jackson.

Most recently, Kevin Owens actually declared his intention to get fans to chant "U-S-A" during his match against fellow Canadian Sami Zayn, and he was successful.

Yes, some people claim that the "U-S-A" chants are intended to show disdain for the foreign heels, not support for the foreign faces, but it's still very very weird.
