Gut Check was a programme run by TNA not too dissimilar from Tough Enough.

It took prominent indie wrestlers and gave them a chance to shine on a bigger platform. It helped the company land such promising talents as Ivelisse, Taeler Hendrix, and Brian Cage.

In 2015, the company ran a "One Night Only" pay-per-view called Gut Check, where ten rookies would compete for the chance to qualify for the main event. The winner of that match would be named the competition champion and be granted a TNA contract.

Five people made it to the final match, which was fought under elimination rules. They were, in order of elimination, Dalton Castle, a future ROH World Champion, Martin Stone, who would become Danny Burch in NXT, Crimson, who had a decent run in TNA, Shaun Ricker, the future LA Knight (yeah), and Tevita Fifita, who current works for WWE under the name Tonga Loa.

With the exception of Crimson (poor lad), all of these guys went on to have great careers across the wrestling spectrum, and this match played an integral part in making that happen.
