There are two things newer wrestling fans need to know about R-Truth. One is that he's way older than he looks - he was born in 1972 - and two is that he used to be a very different character.

Under his real name of Ron Killings, Truth was a big player in TNA's foundational years. He won two NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championships, becoming the first African-American to officially hold the belt, and went up against some massive names.

Two back-to-back Weekly PPVs in 2002 were headlined by Killings defending the NWA title against Mr. Perfect himself, Curt Hennig. The two had just missed each other in WWE - Killings got released in 2001 and Hennig returned in early 2002 - but now, they were free to wrestle their little hearts out.

Considering where Killings is now in wrestling, the fact that he defended a world championship against an all-time great in two different pay-per-view main events is enough to make your head spin.
