Vince McMahon is wild 'til the end.

Perhaps it is the end, perhaps not. Vince is currently trying to make it seem like it isn't the end, by appearing on WWE television despite having "stepped down" from his duties as CEO. What follows is pure speculation, but this bizarre theatre positively screams "If I did anything wrong, where would I get off doing this?" bluster. It's as wild as it is thoroughly expected and mundane; flagrantly contradicting the copy of his "exit" press release is just more "Vince" behaviour from a paradox of a man.

Many words describe McMahon: genius; moron; entertaining; repulsive. "Bold" is as accurate as any, and Vince embodied this characteristic in 1989 when, in front of the New Jersey senate, he said the obvious part loudly and made public the fact that wrestling was predetermined. His timing was ideal, not that he was interested in doing anything except paying less tax (as is the belief widely held within wrestling); by 1989, there were barely any competitors left to piss off. He had won.

Most everybody knew that wrestling wasn't on the level in 1989. They knew this decades and decades earlier.

Still, it's wild that Vince thought nothing of ruining any remaining urge to bargain to the contrary just to save himself a few quid.
