10 Wildest WWE Diva Feuds That Actually Delivered In The Ring

9. Melina vs. Beth Phoenix

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFx3wt_GU8s The rivalry between Beth Phoenix and Melina in 2008 was cut short due to injury but while it lasted, it provided fans with some tremendous in-ring action between two women who were determined to carry on the legacies of Trish Stratus, Lita, Molly Holly and every other talented in-ring competitor that came before them. Phoenix was a powerhouse, stronger than some of her male counterparts, and could toss her opposition around the ring as if they were rag dolls. Dubbed "The Glamazon," she was unlike any female competitor to ever step foot inside a WWE ring. It was incredibly difficult to defeat her, something the rest of the Divas roster discovered the hard way. It took a babyface turn from the once-despised Melina for Phoenix to finally be presented with a challenger that could not only match her in-ring skills but also had the same killer instinct that had made her a former Women's champion. At Judgment Day in May 2008, the competitors clashed for the first time in a Triple Threat match also involving the great Mickie James. In that match, Melina managed to stun Phoenix with some of her tremendously hard-hitting forearm strikes but it was the then-Women's champion's unmatched strength that stole headlines as she lifted both Melina and Mickie into a backbreaker, walked to the center of the ring and sent pain coursing up their spines. It was a crowd-pleasing moment that established the Glamazon as the best and most dominant competitor of her generation of Divas. One Night Stand the following month featured Melina's second shot at dethroning Phoenix, this time in an "I Quit" match. It was a hard-hitting bout that was more physically intense than any other match on that night's card, including the TLC match for the World Heavyweight Championship between Undertaker and Edge. In the end, Phoenix took Melina's incredibly flexible body, bent it backward and forced her to say to the two magic words or suffer a broken spine. It was a jaw-dropping finish to one of the best Divas matches fans had seen in quite some time. They would meet again, with more spectacular results, at Royal Rumble in 2009. Melina would win that one.
