Asuka won the first-ever women's Royal Rumble and this Sunday night, finally made her WrestleMania intentions clear.

Interrupting Charlotte Flair's victory celebration following a successful title defense against Ruby Riott, Asuka strutted to the ring and came face-to-face with SmackDown's women's champion. Slowly, she extended her arm and pointed at the WrestleMania sign, indicating she wants the crown jewel of the Women's Revolution on the biggest stage known to professional wrestling on 8 April.

It is a dream match, one that exists because of the strength of the two women involved.

Charlotte, despite her place on SmackDown, is the face of women's wrestling in WWE. She has been at the forefront of every attempt by management to convince fans to care about the sport. She is the franchise. By booking Asuka against her as opposed to Alexa Bliss, management has given The Empress of Tomorrow the proverbial sign of approval.

An undefeated force versus the top star in women's wrestling is a match that can spawn stories and set tones for the entire division going forward, and it is a testament to Asuka's performance on the main roster that management feels comfortable enough to book her in that spot.
