10 Worst Attitude Era PPVS
3. Bash At The Beach 2000
Former WWF writer Vince Russo's car crash style of booking led to a fiasco at Bash at the Beach 2000, where the lines of reality and kayfabe were unnecessarily blurred and an actual lawsuit was filed against him.
The confusion began when WCW World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett allowed Hulk Hogan to cover him for the victory, which was a plan agreed to by all individuals involved in order to spike ratings and pique interest.
The legitimacy of what happened next is more questionable, as after Hogan left, Russo fired him on air, declared that Jeff Jarrett was still WCW World Heavyweight Champion and made a new main event of Jarrett versus Booker T for the title. Booker T then went onto become the "real" WCW World Heavyweight Champion, and when Hogan found out about what happened, he was not happy.
Hogan reportedly had no idea what Russo had planned after he left the building, and sued him for defamation of character, although Russo claimed this was always the original plan that he maybe misinterpreted.
Whatever the case may be, it wasn't good entertainment for the fans, and was also the last appearance of Hulk Hogan on WCW TV as the promotion only had less than a year left to live.
