10 Worst Bladers In Wrestling History
8. The Rock
The People's Champion has come under a lot of criticism over the years for his blading skills, for being too light with the razor, which achieves too little blood, or on rare occasions for cutting way too deep.
But what marks him out a bad blader for the purposes of this list is how he much he exposes the blade. During his match with Steve Austin at Wrestlemania X-Seven, a stone cold classic (pun very much intended), the Rock is picked up on camera not once, buttwice, manipulating a razor blade. On the grandest stage of them all, in the main event, with the biggest audience of the year, that's pretty bad.
Early on in the bout, The Rock knocks Earl Hebner over on the outside. While the ref is down, he reaches out a places a razor into Rock's hand. It was pretty subtly done, until Rock then passes the blade from one hand to another in full view of the camera. He turns, gets clocked with a ring bell, and manages to blade off camera.
However, as the match progresses it's obvious that he bladed too light, as the blood is barely visible on his forehead. Austin calls for more colour and Rock snafus again. Austin cracks him in the head with a monitor, and as he's flat on his back, Hebner again presses a razor, even more blatantly, into Rock's hand.
The Rock then turns and straight-up looks at his hand for a while, again in full view of the camera.
While you can blame the broadcast crew for not cutting away to Austin sooner, taking time to stare at a razor in your hand is shoddy blading, no matter what anyone says.
