The first-ever women's pay-per-view main event in WWE should have been a momentous occasion, and in a way, it was. Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair were the first women to ever wage war inside The Devil's Playground, and after the fantastic feud they had that year, it only made sense for them to go on last at 2016's Hell in a Cell event.

Unfortunately, their highly-anticipated encounter that night peaked with the entrances.

Flair and Banks brawled before the bell. It felt like forever that Banks was recovering from being put through the commentary table by Flair, but once the match got underway, fans were ready to witness an instant classic. The ladies deserve credit for putting in an outstanding effort, but the match lasted far longer than it should have.

The crowd was clearly drained down the stretch and it didn't help that the finish was horribly botched. The Flair family scion tried multiple times to put Banks through a table that was positioned against the turnbuckle post but failed every time. Ultimately, she settled on beating Banks with the Natural Selection, a move that fans had been conditioned to think was a set-up for her finisher the Figure Eight.

As a result, the crowd was confused when Flair scored the clean three count and was awarded the Raw Women's Championship. The ending made even less sense when you remember that the event emanated from Banks' hometown of Boston.
