10 Worst Main Events In WrestleMania History
2. Hulk Hogan Vs. Sid Justice (WrestleMania VIII)
When you take into consideration that original plans called for Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair in the main event of WrestleMania VIII, the actual main event fans were forced to sit through pitting The Hulkster against the unhinged Sid Justice is even worse.
The match, the result of poor house show attendance and gate generated by Hogan vs. Flair matches across the country, was a thrown-together mess that pitted Vince McMahon's franchise star against another generic big man threatening his throne. Throw in a retirement storyline for Hogan and you have a desperate attempt by management to drum up interest in a match that never really felt like a credible headliner for the most significant match of the year.
And that was everything before the bell rang.
The match itself was a terrible one that saw Hogan beaten down, per the usual, only to make a Superman comeback. Of course, it was thwarted by Justice kicking out of Hogan's patented leg drop at two as a result of a botched run-in by Papa Shango. In hindsight, the entire ordeal is remembered only for The Ultimate Warrior's shocking return after the bell, an indictment on the contest that preceded it.
A match so poor in overall quality, it can be topped only by another colossal bomb involving The Hulkster.
