When Shawn Michaels lost his retirement match at WrestleMania 26, fans wondered what it would take to get him back into a ring again. Turns out it was just “throw a truckload of blood money his way.”

Michaels partnered with Triple H to face off against the Brothers of Destruction, Undertaker and Kane (who had just been elected to political office and apparently saw nothing wrong with being paid by a foreign government that had killed an American journalist). WWE billed this as pitting two legendary factions against each other for the first time ever.

This match could have been a WrestleMania dream match, but in reality, it was a cash grab that turned into a complete embarrassment for all four men. Shawn had clearly lost several steps. Taker was slow and lethargic. Kane’s mask fell off mid-match. Triple H tore his pectoral muscle during the bout. It was a half-hour of four guys ranging in age from 49 to 54 stumbling through something intended to be “epic” and instead was just “comically bad.”

The only thing that saved this from being #1 on the list was a match that nearly saw a legend paralyzed.
