10 Worst Moments In WWE Battleground History
7. Bray Wyatt Is Still A Loser (2014)
It's well-established by now that Bray Wyatt should have won that first match with John Cena at WrestleMania XXX because he hasn't been the same since. He was worse off because of that feud with Cena, and his stock took a hit again when he lost in the main event at Money in the Bank, but his next program with Chris Jericho was designed to get him back on track.
The rivalry itself was enjoyable but nothing earth-shattering, or at least not as good as fans knew it could have been. Their match at Battleground was easily the weakest of their three encounters that summer, but on the bright side, Wyatt was the easy favorite to win. Well, he didn't, even with the help of Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.
It can be argued that Jericho needed to win once against Wyatt in order to maintain his own credibility, but Wyatt falling short of victory for the third straight time on pay-per-view was asinine, especially considering the roll he had been on earlier in the year and how hard it was for anyone to beat him.
Granted, Wyatt went on to defeat Jericho at SummerSlam and in a rematch on Raw, but having him lose at Battleground is still a stupid decision to this day.
