10 Worst PPVs Of WWE PG Era
3. Backlash 2018
The PPV after WrestleMania is notable for being WWE's reset show. It should be one where new or casual fans can jump onto the product, and will be able to follow the storylines that are about to occur. Backlash 2018 was an example of how not to book a post-WrestleMania PPV and is arguably the worst example of the genre.
The main event of the PPV featured a match between Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe. Unfortunately, the match didn't belong in the main event slot. The crowd audibly reacted badly to its placement, and you could actually see people leaving during it. The rest of the card wasn't much better: Carmella and Charlotte had one of the worst matches of both of their respective careers and Daniel Bryan's first PPV singles match back after injury was against Big Cass, something nobody wanted to see.
One of the few highlights of the PPV was a match between The Miz and Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental Title. The match that was so acclaimed by fans that many called it the best match in the career of The Miz.
