10 Worst WCW PPV Endings Ever

9. WCW Champion David Arquette Turns Heel - Slamboree 2000

Thousands of words have been written in books and online about David Arquette winning the WCW championship and the damage it did or didn€™t do to the company and the industry as a whole, as Vince Russo has shifted blame to Tony Schiavone while trumpeting that it landed them coverage in USA Today. You know what else garners a ton of media coverage? ISIS beheadings. But that doesn€™t make them stories we actually want to happen. In 2000 during Russo€™s reign of terror he had fighting champion Dewey from Scream defend his belt against Jeff Jarrett and DDP in a Ready To Rumble triple cage match, which was a structure straight out of the mega-blockbuster hit movie that featured Oliver Platt and a bunch of WCW wrestlers. As of Arquette as champ wasn€™t bad enough, we had the ultimate €œswerve€ with David turning hell and helping Jarrett win the title from himself when he hit DDP with The Chosen One€™s guitar. We should probably be thankful because it got the belt back around the waist of a wrestler at least, but the ending was so hokey, and absent any logic just for the sake of tricking the fans that It was abysmal.
