10 Worst Wrestling Matches In Halloween Havoc History
3. Hollywood Hogan Vs The Warrior (1998)
You can never go back. In theory, rematching one of the all time great WWF main events was a big money proposition. Hogan and Warrior renewing hostilities, clashing for only the second time ever? Surely that’s a fine idea.
Well, no, it wasn’t, for all manner of reasons. It wasn’t 1990 anymore. Warrior’s act was stale, Hogan had been reborn as a heel, and the build (involving Warrior appearing and disappearing in a mirror while Hogan did his best am dram spooky acting) was atrocious. But the ever-politicking Terry Bollea wanted his win back, and so Warrior was brought in to do the lucrative job.
As you can probably guess, the match is just awful. Neither man can really be bothered, and the two are hampered by a crowd that just doesn’t like what they’re seeing. Warrior’s psych-up routine just looks sad, and by the time Hogan tries and fails to throw a fireball in his enemy’s face, the air has been sucked from the arena.
The finish even involves Hogan’s nephew Horace, who helps his uncle grab the win to put this ugly scene to bed. Oh, and then Hogan tries to burn Warrior to death. Shameful stuff.
