6. Battlekat

At first, it was Brady Boone who played the Battlekat character in the WWF of 1990, one designed to play off the man's athletic abilities. He was as nimble and flexible as a cat, see? Unfortunately, try as the company would to make it so, a cat isn't the most fearsome animal for a professional wrestler. There's a reason why other wrestlers chose animals like tigers and lions, not domestic house cats, for their gimmicks after all.

Naturally, fans found it hard to really buy into what Battlekat was selling, and when Boone left the promotion, Bob Bradley was put under the embarrassing mask and asked to prowl around like he was looking for a saucer of milk. This was a definite case of throwing something at the wall to see if it would stick, but it never really caught on.

A large part of the problem was with the outfit, which was a standard set of orange and purple spandex, mixed with a cute-looking black and purple mask. The name was supposed to instill power into the gimmick, but instead it made the wrestler sound like a badly written children's cartoon series.
